Technical Tip: Always ensure the conductor is fully inserted into the barrel before crimping and use the manufacturer's recommended die set. Even the best lug can't deliver optimum performance if the crimp isn't completed correctly.
Using correctly sized copper lugs helps to:
- Maximise electrical conductivity
- Reduce joint resistance and heat build-up
- Improve mechanical strength and pull-out performance
- Support long-term network reliability
For installations where safety is critical, using 1000V-rated insulated copper lugs can also provide additional protection against accidental contact and short-circuit risks.
The Cembre range combines robust construction with reliable performance for demanding low-voltage applications.
Small details during installation can make a big difference to the lifespan and performance of your electrical connections.
